Alisa Bobovnikova's book, a distinguished authority in the IT management sphere, stands as a testament to Western business school ideals. Comprising seven chapters, each intricately unveils a facet of employee interaction.
The modules skilfully blend minimal theoretical discourse with a resolute focus on hands-on engagement with IT professionals of diverse competencies. The material is impeccably organized, rendering it effortlessly accessible for perusal and quick reference. Written in an engaging and straightforward style, the book's unique strength lies in its profusion of workshops and cases replete with answers and elucidations – a trait often overlooked by many authors in the field.
A particular emphasis is placed on fostering effective communication between top-tier management and software development teams, along with the evaluation and cultivation of leadership skills. An intriguing attribute is the innovative structural presentation. For instance, the concept of a Scrum team is unveiled only in the fourth chapter, preceded by foundational chapters that acclimate readers to the essence of Scrum methodology and its potential for steering development teams effectively. Thorough examination of constructing a comprehensive system to assess the efficacy of software development teams offers insightful criteria for comparing specialists at varying levels – from juniors to seasoned software engineers. Practical exercises, coupled with meticulous explanations, greatly facilitate the material's comprehension. It is regrettable that limitations in the publication's format or other factors impeded an exhaustive exploration of interactions between heads of development teams and upper management.
The concluding chapters pivot towards personal development, accentuating that the manager's growth and self-improvement hold the key to employee advancement, work efficacy, and motivation. It becomes evident that an effective, efficient, and successful manager is the linchpin to driving collective progress.
Appraising the applicability of the tools delineated by the author within the Russian context poses a challenge. Several presuppose a corporate culture and well-defined hierarchy, facets not yet universally prevalent in the market under scrutiny. Nonetheless, these insights could potentially serve as a linchpin for advancing and revolutionizing the entire IT industry within CIS nations. As a result, Ms. Bobovnikova's book might very well catalyze pivotal, qualitative shifts in the CIS IT landscape.

Agile.
